Are these sentences correct?

Have a look at the following sentences:

"I learned to cook when I was 17 years old. Since then, I haven't had to worry about being hungry even if my parents are not at home."

"I learned to cook when I was 17 years old. Since then, I would not worry about being hungry even if my parents are not at home."

Are these sentences grammatically correct? If yes, do they mean same thing?

Thank you.
