Are these sentences correct?

I'm not going to open the door because I know that Robert with you.

I'm not going to open the door beacuse I know Robert with you.

The first is preferred in formal writing. the second includes the lazy "that," a word which gets thrown in everywhere. It's not needed.

But both sentences need the verb "is."
