Are these sentences all correct?

In the Eastern Hundred, thousands of nomads had gathered to sack Juramona. The town’s defenders, hoping to save their own lives and property by arranging for Juramona to fall without a fight, opened the south gate for the nomads. The plainsmen then charged into the town, slaughtering and burning everything in their path. While the nomads were rampaging through Juramona, Zala and Tylocost made their escape from the doomed town. The pair began the journey southeast to the Great Green, the place that Tylocost reckoned Tol to be. A day after receiving the magical visions, Tol departed the Dom-shu village and began the journey to Juramona, carrying Number Six and the nullstone. Egrin and Kiya accompanied Tol, but Miya decided to remain in the village in order to take care of Eli.
