Are these plot grammatically correct?

Hi, please help to correct my writing if there are any mistakes.

Short Plot
A 12-year-old girl from New York, Sarah, is visiting Malaysia for the first time and witnessing her world change as she spends time with her traditionally conservative grandfather.

Long Plot
Sarah is a little girl who lives and is raised in New York. When she visits Malaysia for the very first time, she finds her view on the world changing as she spends her time with her deeply conservative grandfather, Gen. She also learns that cultural tradition is the reason why her grandfather and her mother, Sophia, have not seen each other since she was born.
