“Mathematics is the gate and key to science.” This is what Roger Bacon said, and there is truth in it. But if you ask me about my reaction to it, I will say that we humans need to improve, strengthen, and immortalize this “gate and key,” not for our own glory but for the glory of God. In short, we ourselves can be unique innovators in the fields of science and mathematics if and only if we allow Him to mold us into creative and responsive children of our own parents, students, members of the community, and children of God.
In connection to this, several questions linger in my mind: How can science club members influence innovation? How can they be agents of innovation in the fast-changing world? Can they be forged as better children of their parents, students, members of the community, and children of God? Remember that innovation is one of the top trending topics, one of the most talked about topics in our modern times. But when will our country innovate, and who will start the innovation?
Sci-Math Clubbers are mostly students, or let us say, the youth. Maybe right now, we ask ourselves: How can the youth start the innovation? They can really innovate, as the late Dr. Jose Rizal said, “The youth is the hope of the fatherland.” The hope for innovation in in our country is none other than the youth.
