No. Just stick with "about". That's fine.

2) "Why did Herry's children die?"
"What did Herry's children die for?" Again, the meanings can be different.

3) Both are correct. "To rust" is a verb. "To get/become rusty" is an adjective.
Both expressions describe the process.
"To be rusty" describes a state or condition. "Some of my tools are rusty."

I think the process of photosynthesis uses light energy (or radiant energy from the sun) to synthesize hydrocarbons from simple elements - oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, etc.
Hey, I'm no expert.

Okay, carbon dioxide is not an element, but it's a very simple compound.
The proteins etc. needed for growth of plants are very complex.

The process consumes energy. It doesn't produce it, or convert something into it.

The reactions of photosynthesis are grouped into two categories: the "light reactions" and the "dark reactions". The first category of reactions, which require light and water, synthesize ATP and NADPH ('energy-storing' molecules) and liberate oxygen. The second set of reactions, which do not require light, use carbon dioxide and the energy stored in the previously mentioned ATP and NADPH molecules to drive the production of sucrose, a carbohydrate.
