Are these correct?

Question

1) This object could be taken away from you.

2) This object would be taken away from you if you did anything wrong.

3) If I was you I would call my parents first.

4) This problem could take a lot of time.

All are grammatically correct, but note that these are better:

3) If I were you, I would call my parents first.

4) Solving this problem could take a lot of time.

Yes. Almost always, but English has a strange exception.
The exception is when "if" is used. (A 'would' or 'could' clause normally follows.)

PAST: "Hypothetical" (i.e., with "if")

he, she, it, I - was But: If he, If she, If it, If I - were

we, you, they - were If we, If you, If they - were

I was late. But: If I were late, I would be embarrassed.

He was rich. But: If he were rich, he could buy a yacht.

Some people use "was" even after "if",

but you should learn to use "were".
