Are these correct?

1) This object could be taken away from you.

2) This object would be taken away from you if you did anything wrong.

3) If I was you I would call my parents first.

4) This problem could take a lot of time.

All are grammatically correct, but note that these are better:

Yes. Almost always, but English has a strange exception.
The exception is when "if" is used. (A 'would' or 'could' clause normally follows.)

PAST: "Hypothetical" (i.e., with "if")
