Are these correct?

Hi,

Please tell me if these sentences with the underlined parts are correct.

1. His trip, which been a long and expensive undertaking, has proven worthy of his money and effort.

Should it be?

His trip, which has been a long and expensive undertaking, has proven worthy of his money and effort.

Can a past participle like 'been' or 'gone' act or stand alone as kind of a subordinate clause or as an appositive without 'has' or 'was'?
