Are these 3 correct?

In British style, I'd have to keep the third period (outside the ending single quote mark) after 'p.m.', 'etc.' and 'et al.' because I'm using single quotes, correct? I believe all 3 below to be correct. Yes? I don't want to use italics here.

Not to be picayune, but I'd even omit the periods in 'p.m.'.

I don't like to use the word 'etc.'.

I dislike how often he uses the word 'et al.'.

Thanks a bundle! Emotion: smile

Hi Victo Isn't a picayune a Spanish coin? - I only ask because I don't understand the relevance to pm. As sentences grammatically I would say they are correct but as a sentence I would suggest they may be wrong.

  • Etc - is an abbreviation rather than a word.
  • Et al is 2 words (although not British).

Hi Victo

As sentences grammatically I would say they are correct but as a sentence I would suggest they may be wrong. Etc - is an abbreviation rather than a word. Et al is 2 words (although not British). The full stop also goes outside quote marks so the punctuation looks wrong to me
