Are there any mistakes in these few sentences?

Hi, teachers, I've been writing to improve my English skills, but still very often I come across situations when I am not sure whether my writing is correct and whether I make mistakes that I'm not aware of. Here are a few sentences that I've doubts. Could you please help me check them. Great thanks in advance.

1. Lately, I planned to write whenever I feel like it to improve my writing skill, English, and so on. But after watching some Oprah’s shows, an episode of Iyanla Vanzant’s Google hangouts, and a few testimonials of the law of attraction, I was like, no way, I have to put writing at the top of my priority list.

* When I said no way, I meant that there is no way that I should write only when I feel like it.

2. I really have to make it mandatory for myself to reflect every day, digging deep into my soul, to fix any problems there are and improve it to make myself a better being.

I'm not familiar with Iyania Vanzant, and I'm not sure what a Google hangout is, or how it relates to Vanzant, and I'm not clear about what you mean by the law of attraction, but this is how I would correct the sentences, as I understand them, and based on current US usage. 1. I decided recently to improve my skill in written English, and that in order to do this, I would write whenever the urge to write came over me.

  • However, after viewing some of Oprah's shows (she's big on reading, and by extension, I suppose, writing), particularly the episode on Iyania Vanzant, her Google hangouts, and testimonials on Vanzant's law of attraction, I've decided that just writing when I feel like it is not enough, and that I'll have to put continuous, maximum effort into improving my writing.
