Are the underlined parts grammatical?

Hi!
Are the underlined parts grammatical?

Since she has better education and she has always had better-paid job than her ex-husband, she believes that the ex-husband must participate in supporting their children to the lesser degree than she does, namely, 35%.

Thanks Emotion: smile

It should be "to a lesser degree". Also, it should be " a better-paid job" or "better-paid job s ". I would also write " a better education", though this one might be more debatable.

  • "must participate in supporting their children to a lesser degree than she does" still feels a bit cumbersome to me.
  • I feel there should be an easier way of saying it.
