Are the sentences correct?

Hi, I am an english learner and I have come across the following two sentences and not quite sure which one is correct:

1) He has two houses, the larger one is offered to a local charitable body.

2) He has two houses, the larger of which is offered to a local charitable body.

Could someone please help me. Thanks.
