Does the highlighted sentence say:

or

my instincts as a visitor-tourist are opposite to my curiosity that urges me to follow it.

Barely drawing attention to itself as an artwork, there is nothing really, save plain old curiosity, urging me to follow it. In fact, my conditioned instincts as a visitor-tourist are the opposite, since nothing paves the way for what I may be in for: Where am I heading? How long will it take? What can I expect to take place? (You could say I leave point Aa without the slightest inkling of where point Bb might be.)
