Are the following sentence correct?

I received a letter in which had been written by somebody.

This makes no sense.

Do you mean that a person wrote the letter, not a computer?

Or are you trying to tel us about the contents of the letter?

I am asking if the tenses are used correctly , I mean the past perfect simple is correct in that sentence or it should used the simple past instead? '' I received a letter from Marry in which had been written/was written that she had been fired from her job."
