Are they interchangeable?

It will bring us much harm than both of you could even imagine.

Could you please tell me why you have replaced much with more? And why I cannot use 'both' in that situation? It will be helpful for me in such a situation in future.

Much is the descriptive, while more...than is the comparative.

You cannot use 'much harm than'.
