Are the commas next to the brackets needed?

He told me that if my lawyer wants another report, (he had earlier sent one, which did not mention my problems stated in paragraph 2, to my previous lawyer Adrian Heng), my lawyer will have to write in to request for it.

Are the commas next to the brackets needed?

Thanks.

This is a good time to use m-dashes. He told me that if my lawyer wants another report—he had earlier sent one to my previous lawyer Adrian Heng that did not mention my problems stated in paragraph 2 —my lawyer will have to write in to request it.
