Are the assumptions right

I wrote these stories last year/ in the last year/ over the last year.

I guess, all three are OK here & mean the same.

But,

'I wrote these stories past year'- Is it OK? Or, should we use 'in the past year' or 'over the past year'? I guess witout a preceding preposition it doesn't work.

Please let me know if my assumptions are right in both cases.
