Are sent vs were sent (Urgent help needed)

I need a quick suggestion/advise on the correct usage of the following:

The case is, on pressing a certain button on a software, user is given an error message AFTER the button is pressed. I'm being asked which one to choose from the below:

Instructions are not sent for accounts which are associated to different investment plans than its workplace investing model.

This is what I suggested, since the message appears AFTER user has pressed the button:

Instructions are not were not sent for account(s) which are associated to different plans than its their workplace investing model(s).

Thanks in Advance!

There may still be a way too say this more clearly -- it's still a bit difficult to uinderstand. Does "workplace" mean the software's current view of the user's investments? And is it possible for the user to use different investing models at different times, but the user can only work with one investing model in the workspace at a time?

  • If this is true, then maybe one could say:Instructions were not sent to accounts which are not associated with the current investing model.

I don't think you have provided enough context for anyone to accurately answer this question. For example, what is a " workplace investing model" and how does it get associated with "investment plans" and what is "different" about them, what kind of instructions are sent.

In any case your suggestion is no better than the original and may well be worse.

This strikes me as the kind
