Are 'restarts' and 'entry' correctly used in the sentence?

Dennis says that his journey does not end with his graduation from high school, but it restarts with his entry into college.

I see a problem of sense. A thing can't restart unless it has ended, sort of. I want "continues" or "picks up where it left off" or something like that.
