Essay & Composition Writing

Are my grammar correct?

1) Talk about your major (why do you choose that major)

I’m currently a graduate of the University of science, VN national university, Ho Chi Minh city. My major is biotechnology, more specifically, my major is agriculture biotechnology. Nowadays biotechnology has just come to VN but I believe that in the future, it will be popular and important because of its application.

In my opinion, teaching is probably the first choice for most people. Nearly everyone wants to have a stable life so they think that majoring in teaching would help them achieve this goal. I guess the second most prevalent subject would be a business. You know many students want to be rich in the future so they are into that subject.

As for me, I think those majors are so boring. I love technology and creation. I love fresh and attracted knowledge of biology and its application. So I choose biotechnology.

2) Talk about your hometown

Well, my hometown is BL, a small and quiet town of VN. It’s a highland town so that it is a pretty nice place to live. The weather there is quite pleasant with cool and fresh air. In the summer, it’s often rain but I love summer rain there. It’s a feature of my hometown. Although Bao Loc is developing a lot recently and expanding every year, it still has specific and beautiful places. These are endless green tea hills and imposing waterfalls in the forests. You also can see vast immense white hills of coffee when they are blooming. Therefore, particular products there are tea and coffee. In addition, the food there is excellent. You can digest a lot of local snacks that cannot be tasted elsewhere. In sum, I think that as the tourist city, it should preserve its own characteristic to attract the tourists.

3) Talk about your accommodation

I am living at a small lodging nearly my university. it’s about 3km from my university. I rent that place since I was third year at University of science. It is a small room and I am living with my friends who used to study at the same university as me. Although it is quite small, it’s big enough for us to live. We feel comfortable there because we live in complete concord. Now, I have lived there for 2 years.

4) Describe the science lesson you had in the high school

I’m going to talk about an interesting science lesson that I attended at high school when I was 17 or 18 years old.

It was a long time ago, so I can’t remember every detail, but the lesson was about photosynthesis. We learnt about how plants and other organisms convert light energy into chemical energy, how they used carbon dioxide and water to produce oxygen and food and how to distinguish photosynthesis of kinds of plants such as C3, C4 and CAM. The science teacher also talked to us about important roles of photosynthesis for life.

I found this lesson is interesting because my science teacher always introduced new topics by showing us a video. We watched a short film about how photosynthesis works and I found this is much easier to understand than a science textbook. The film showed a short funny story explaining how photosynthesis works in plants by pictures and diagram. I think these funny and coloured images are the reason why I remember this lesson.
