Are either correct in a formal sense?

"I think there was a misunderstanding between Mark and you. I plan on going to the Mediterranean, but I may delay it a few months, and Mark concedes this."

I presume you mean more correct. No, the only concern is that the speaker by convention refers to him/herself after s/he refers to others: 'Mark and I are going', rather than 'I and Mark are going'. It is not, however a grammatical concern, but rather one of etiquette.

Would you say that the etiquette of this one is to refer first to the person you are speaking to and then to someone else (who may not actually be present)?

I think that is why I say "you and Mark", "you and Susan", and so on, in preference to the reverse. In general, I think "you" takes precedence over "I/me" and over "he/she" because of the "etiquette factor". What
