Are both sentences correct? If they are, which is the better option for an exam like Cambridge CAE?

So that was the cloth I wrapped his leg with/ So that was the cloth with which I wrapped his leg.

"with which" sounds overly formal to me for something like wrapping someone's leg with cloth.
