Grammar

"are being paid" or "are paid"

I was doing an exercise which asked me to change the sentences into passive structures. The sentence was "We pay them a lot of money for doing very little." I changed it into "They are being paid a lot of momey ..." but the book had "They are paid ..." as an answer. Was my answer wrong? If yes, why?

olive train 503 Was my answer wrong? As for grammar, yours is not wrong at all, but as for a class exercise, the passive of 'we pay them' is irrevocably 'they are paid by us'.
