Are ‘back then’ and ‘to’ correctly used in the sentence?

Alice was a young Indian girl. Her father took care of her during her early childhood years. As she was the only child back then, he poured all of his efforts and attention to her. She was no princess living in a castle, but living with him was pretty much the same – maybe even better.

Rommel As she was the his only child back then, Rommel he poured all of his efforts and attention to her. You pour something on (not to) something or someone. However, I would use something like "focused" instead of "poured" in the above.
