(1) The global population is expected to exceed eight billion.
(2) The global population is estimated to exceed eight billion.
(3) It is estimated that the global population will exceed eight billion.

They are OK.

( 1) and ( 3) have about the same meaning. ( 2) has a different meaning.

Sorry, I meant to write, (2) The global population is forecast to exceed 80 billion. (as opposed to estimated) Then, all refer to the future size of the popuation, right?

Yes, but that forecast is greater by a factor of 10. So it must be for about 1000 years from now, whereas the others are for the next century..
