b) Where did he come to? And what did he find there?

c) What shop in what town did he find?

Thanks in advance.

#C is a very unnatural question. I would use this instead ( A and B are OK, though): He came to a small town on a river, and found a food shop in a quiet street. Where did he go and what did he find ?

1. What did he do when he reached the shop? He opened the door and went in.
Thinking Spain it is correct according to the blue sentence?
Yes, but doesn't it seem rather trivial? I could answer it without reading the text. Do you really have to ask questions about each sentence in the narrative?

Hi Mister Micawber,
Yes, but doesn't it seem rather trivial? You are right! It is of little value.
I could answer it without reading the text. Of course. It is quite logical.
Do you really have to ask questions about each sentence in the narrative?
