Arbitration

I am reading a legal document about arbitration and this sentence confuses me:

Judgment upon any arbitral award rendered may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof

So arbitral award, if my understanding is correct, is judgment of arbitration. Then what does this sentence mean and in particular what does it mean to "enter in a judgment?" I'd really appreciate your help!
