Ar these two sentences worded correctly?

FYI- Solanthus is the stronghold/city. When the Solamnic forces that defended Solanthus charged out of the stronghold to battle Mina’s troops, the ghost army attacked them while her living soldiers dropped into the city on dragonback. This plan allowed for Mina to easily capture Solanthus while sending the Solamnics on their way after locking the city to them.
