Apt to demonstrate ...

Hi

I'd like to ask you about the last sentence from the last but one paragraph on this page: http://www.truthunity.net/tracts/emmet-fox-the-mental-equivalent-3

The sentence is: Is it any wonder that man is so apt to demonstrate the "marred image" ?

Is the author trying to say that people cannot focus their thoughts properly (marred image)? OR maybe that a man himself is a representation of a "marred image"?

I'm not familiar with the term - the marred image - but it looks like it is a way of expressing the Christian belief that human beings are made in the image and likeness of ***, but through sin, that image has been damaged. So we only see *** in other people through the filter of their sinfulness, and this makes it harder to see *** and also the goodness of humanity. e.
