E) coming down to ground level even more astounding
I picked D) because it made the most sense to me but the answer is apparently C). I don't know why that is and I'd appreciate some clarification.

A) according to science channels series they are too old B) thanks to the new technology it is on the outskirts of the city C) satellite imagines show 97 geometrically similar shapes 'but' does not seem to make sense here .
