Appreciate the true value of something

Could you please tell me what this means to a native? I found this in a translation forum. I'm not sure they all mean the same thing nor if they are all natural.

'He appreciated the (true) value of the experience'

'He appreciated the experience to the full'

He enjoyed the experience at its true worth.

They all mean about the same thing. I think the first one 'flows' a little better than the other two.
