Appreciate that vs appreciate the same?

I sent a request to some one and he accepted it. So I want to send him a thanks email. Thank you for accepting my request. 'I appreciate that/appreciate the same'.Are they interchangeable? Does both give same meaning

Thank you for accepting my request. I appreciate it. (This is the most natural expression.)

I appreciate the same. This expression is very awkward. The same as what?

I prefer the personal pronoun, but the demonstrative is OK. That has an intonation of something removed, at a distance.

The same meaning the thing(s) just mentioned is one of those old-fashioned business-letter phrases that is more likely to be seen in legal documents than emails.
I agree with AS that it sounds awkward here, especially when combined with appreciate, which has a less formal tone well suited to an email.

It's more natural to say eg Thank you for agreeing to my request.
