I was wondering if anyone here could give me a hand. I have a paper due for an English writing class and I need to include some appositives in my paper.
Does anyone know if these are grammatically correct?
''The only son, a single child to a proud father, is a serious character that is trying to live up to the expectations that were set for him.''
''Competitive bud, the best friend of a fellow high school student from several years ago, is a loud mouth that is always the center of attention.''
The bold part reinstates the underlined, so in theory this should be correct. Could anyone confirm if these sentences are grammatically correct and are appositives?
