Hi, please help me."A professional calligrapher in Kyoto has begun writing the names of Kabuki actors on signboards in preparation for the year-end Kabuki performances, an annual attraction in the ancient capital."In my opinion, "an annual attraction" and "the year-end kabuki performances" are appositive.So I wonder if it is possible to change "an annual attraction" to "annual attractions" because "performances" is plural.

You could change it, but it is also OK as is, since the kabuki performances are one kind of attraction.

Yes, they are appositives. You could pluralise "attraction", but I don't think it's appropriate given the circumstances. Although "performances" is plural, the implication is they still form a single event or attraction, probably held over a relatively short period of time, and only once a year (which is what "annual" means). Every year in England we have a world-famous series of classical music concerts called the "Promenade Concerts" (or BBC Proms) held mainly in London over a couple of months. Although it's a series of many concerts, we still call it an annual attraction (not plural attractions).
