Appositive

Hi, please help me.

"A professional calligrapher in Kyoto has begun writing the names of Kabuki actors on signboards in preparation for the year-end Kabuki performances, an annual attraction in the ancient capital."

In my opinion, "an annual attraction" and "the year-end kabuki performances" are appositive.
So I wonder if it is possible to change "an annual attraction" to "annual attractions" because "performances" is plural.

You could change it, but it is also OK as is, since the kabuki performances are one kind of attraction.
