Letter Writing

applying for a job when you are a mum

I would like some advice on a letter which I am writing to apply for a job. Last year I became a mum for the first time and decided that I wanted to stop from work for a year to take better care of him. Now that he turned 1 and he is starting nursery school , I am applying for a new job. My question is do I have to specify in my letter of application why I was unemployed for the last past year?

Thanks a lot in advance

No, you don't have to. This is a tricky choice to make - there are advantages and disadvantages either way.
