Apply / be+applied(=> does not change the subject)

1. Special conditions apply if you are under 18.

2. Special conditions are applied (by the authorities) if you are under 18.

3. The word 'unexciting' could never be applied to her novels.

4. The word 'unexciting' could never apply to her novels.

I think the verb apply is very unique because it also has the passive form without changing the subject as above.

Are there the same type of verbs as apply?
