Applies to all or just one?

Hi. Please help. Does the phrase "from his many years as a backpacker" applies to all three or just to the phrase "interesting stories"? Would you say, in this kind of situations, common sense is what we should base our conclusion on? Thank you in advance.

He shares 1) personal insights, 2) personal lessons, and 3) interesting stories from his many years as a backpacker.

Yes, you will have to use common sense, because the syntax does not make it clear. Commonsense, however, is certainly on the side of the phrase's referring to all three.
