Application letter

Hi,

I wrote this letter for a job application. Can someone read it and correct my errors please?

Dear Mr. Dierckx,
Flemish friends of mine, living in New York, told me that you may be looking for a new web editor for the website of the Flanders House. I wish to apply for this job. Let me introduce myself and tell you why I think I'm qualified.

I earned a bachelor degree in journalism in the city of Antwerp. Since 2006 I've been working as a web editor for the VRT newsroom. There I learned to make short news items for the website including edited pictures and self-edited video, all against a strictly deadline. There aren't any secrets anymore in Contentmanagmentsystems for me. Finding the essence in a information overload and writing a message, adapted to the target audience, that's my cup of tea.

Today, I'm a communication manager and a webmaster for The Flemish Library and Archives Association. A versatile job for a small association. Editing some magazines, organizing work related excursions, a few of my tasks.

I have a very good knowledge of English and I am passionate about the U.S. in general and New York in particular. For example, I love to read the New York Times online and visit my friends in Harlem frequently.

I currently live in Antwerp but I'm more than willing to move to New York. I'm motivated to do this job and I'm really ready for a new big adventure!
Yours sincerely,
