Application Form The Last Question

Hello!

I am applying to a job abroad and I am supposed to answer the last question in the application form. Well, actually I have already made some key points and broadly outlined the key points and then ended up with a very mechanic English (especially with some repeted words such as 'provide, also, participate in, contribute to..., etc.' ). Could you possibly help me change the sentences or paragraphs and write in a more natural real English? Please! ??

Q: Please provide us with as much information as possible about your professional experience. Where does your professional experience include teaching? Please identify the type of institution (primary, secondary, tertiary, higher education, etc.) the courses for which you were responsible for.

A: With the purpose of improving the quality of learning of all X University students irrespective of their learning profile, I provide quality tuition to my students and check their understanding by giving appropriate feedbacks on time. So I plan, prepare and deliver effective lessons to meet students’ cognitive and affective needs ensuring that the learning objectives specified in our programme syllabus are met in the best possible way to meet their needs. It’s also very important for me to be able to contribute to the development of critical thinking skills of students because of this reason I provide individual support and attention to them as required and through tutorials and individual meetings.

I also effectively carry out non-teaching related duties such as
(i) budget (I was allocated a certain percentage of school district funds for purchasing classroom supplies and equipment. So I am basically responsible for formulating the budget based on that percentage.)

(ii) classroom safety (I am also responsible for classroom safety in the event of an emergency. The University where I teach has enforced a requirement that we, as teachers, learn CPR procedures.

(iii) student personal problems (I am supposed to be prepared to deal with students often coming to school carrying a great deal of emotional baggage with them. So I should know when to be a sounding board for the student without crossing the line and know when to send them to a qualified professional such as the guidance counsellor or school psychologist.)

(iv) Staff Meetings and Curriculum Planning (X University employs a monthly faculty meeting as well as regular curriculum planning meetings. I try to contribute to institutional and professional development by regularly attending the international ELT seminars and conferences held across Turkey. In addition to teaching responsibilities, I have also taken the duty of sports coach, and being student advisor.

Other than these roles I invigilate students’ English exams and mark them. If any of my colleagues don’t come to school for some reason I substitute for absent colleagues. I also remind my students about adhering to institutional rules.

To contribute to institutional and professional development I have always participated in staff development and other training programmes. As it is quite important to enjoy while teaching, I think I have contributed to the positive working atmosphere in my Language Department and the school. For example, I participated in the maintenance of an ‘open door’ policy at my university, which includes class visits and classroom observations so that teachers can keep each other informed about how they conduct their lessons. In the end we can talk about our strengths and weaknesses during classes.

Apart from these, I teach a full instructor course load of 500 hours in a year.
