Application for University of Michigan

Hey guys.. I'm applying for UMich.. would you do me a great favor and just check the two following statements for mistakes?

1 ) "Both my parents have taken a part of their studies at the Paris Institute of Technology. Their positive experience as well as the reputation of the Institute led me to start my university education here. So far, I absolutely share my parents perfect satifsfaction with teaching quality and support services."

2 ) "when I told my German literature teacher that I enjoyed writing short stories, he first encouraged me to read out my stories in class and finally asked me to participate in the national competition of young writers. His teaching made my submitted short story count among the prize winners."
