Application for a recreational trip

With due respect I request you to allow our class IX-A to go to XXX on a recreational trip. Since exams are over, we want to enjoy and relax. It is requested to kindly arrange a recreational trip. I shall be very grateful to you for this act of kindness.

To me, it does not sound natural.

I would say this:

As we have completed writing our exams, we would like to go on a recreational tour. We would be very much grateful to you if you could organize a recreational trip for our class ( IX A).
