Question

I have excellent Communication and outstanding relationship building and networking skills. My first two jobs are the reflection of my strong communication. I worked at GGphone Ltd. in coutnry abc in their contact center division, where I had to deal with internal and external stakeholders of GGnphone on daily basis. This experience played a vital role to enhance my communication ability. I also worked for an English daily newspaper for couple months where I learnt the basic of report writing in English. I have very good command over English and I taught in English at University of Bergen. I have recently taken IETLS test and I scored 7.5. I also completed workshop on Bangla communicative speech and literature.

It is needless to say that my present job requires an extensive communication with the audience. I need to engage my pupils, encourage them to participate while lecturing. Hence I am comfortable in delivering speech or speaking in front of large group. I do not feel shaky during public speaking.

I have participated so many events, speed friending or speed dating, welcome party- the list goes on. I participate these events not only for having fun, but also expanding the horizon of networking, take the chance of knowing new people from across the world. Now I can proudly say that I will probably find my friends or acquaintance in most of the major cities in the world. Currently member of University of Bergen alumni association, Dhaka University Public Administration Family, Ex-employee association of GG

To sum up, it is apparent that I have almost all means of networking skill and experiences: face to face conversation, open debate, speaking to large group, online communication, over the phone communication and knowledge about print media. I have gained these skills through my diverse job and voluntary experiences and studies like customer manager position in an inbound call centre, reporting job in daily newspaper, lecturer position, exchange student and summer school.

I am taking 2 sections that comprises around 80 students. Each year I am got a chance of influencing few hundreds of best mind of the country. ABC University is the leading and pioneer private university and one of the best university in country A. Each day I am influencing the young mind. I have a strong passion to enlighten the young minds, who are going to be the future architects of our nation and of the world. , young people are the future architect of the nation. Definitely it is true. But I believe young are the hope of present, not only the future. One does not have to wait until a certain age or until he or she reached at a certain level of position. Each can play role for the country from their own position.

I am giving my utmost effort to inspire my student to do something better, to aim high, to think big. I use numerous materials like different articles, video, webpage related to their course and some are not directly related to their curriculum. My answer:

I am currently working as a part time faculty at ABC University in Bangladesh since May. I already received summer semester’s ’Teaching Evaluation Report’ by students. I had taken two sections, where students from two separate sections marked me on my capacity as an instructor and I am glad to announce that I received ‘Very Good’ and ‘Excellent’, respectively. It is such an encouragement for me that validated my decision of joining the teaching profession.

I have recently applied for full time position. I am optimistic to get the permanent position. Nevertheless, if I fail to get the permanent position regardless of my good class performance, lack of having degree from reputable institutions of aforementioned countries (UK, USA, Canada and Australia) would might be a possible reason. A degree from UK will give me more stable position at ABC University. ABC University is the only university in our country where all faculty members have foreign Master’s or Doctorate degree mainly from USA, Canada, UK and Australia. Therefore the Chevening scholarship programme will give the chance to receive degree from a distinguished educational institute of UK that will ultimately give me a competitive advantage in my present job.

After completion of the study, I will straightly return back to Bangladesh and I will resume my current job, and will put concentration on teaching profession. I believe I can join in my current since I have been working here. I hope the authority will allow me this privilege.

I received many things from my country. I received government subsidized education and different government scholarship schemes. I feel that I have deep liability to society. As I said earlier part, I had attached to various voluntary organizations and have many community engagement. But these were not enough to satisfy my thrust. I want to do more for my nation.
Whatsoever, I went to Norway to pursue my degree in Public Administration and came back to Bangladesh after successfully completed my programme. After returning to Bangladesh, many of my relatives and close peoples scolded me for coming back.

I believe I belong to here, I want make contribution for my mother land within my limited capacity. By the grace of almighty, I received call from North South University for facing interview just one month after I had arrived in Bangladesh. Now I am so much in love with my present job.

As I want to stay in academia, I have to complete Ph.D. at some point of time. Along with teaching, I will be developing my doctoral proposal. I will try get doctoral position in a good university. I am not thinking anything but research and teaching. I am also interested to work as a free-lance consultant for national NGOs in Bangladesh. My long term goal is to become a full time academician with maximum dedication for teaching and research work, and a free-lance development practitioner.

I learnt basic statistics and SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) application during my bachelor, and I am about to forget it due to lack of exercise. This programme would be a wonderful chance for me to refine my quantitative analysis skills. I am totally impressed by the academic curriculum of my selected programmes offered by some prominent UK universities.I have gone through the courses’ curriculum and found the selected three programmes have extensive focus on social research including quantitative research module. My future goal is to obtain Ph.D. in relevant field. I already developed two different doctoral proposals and applied to 3-4 universities. I was shortlisted for two cases, but did not able to make it at the end. One was so close, I was on a list of three candidates where two were chosen. It seems I was so close yet so far. Hence I feel that I have some lacking in terms of research methods and techniques. I have sound knowledge about qualitative research.
