Direction of Admissions
...... University, ....
Dear Mr. ....,
I am writing to you, and the board of admissions, in asking to appeal the decision of rejection of my application from your university; I received notice on 10/17/11 that I was unsuccessful in my application leaving me extremely disappointed. While I understand that careful consideration is taken into account when dealing with admission, I know that I have what it takes to go beyond the expectation set forth by such a prestigious university if given the chance. The opportunity of learning at a higher education hasn't come by itself, having had to work and pay for my own tuition has left a toll on my academic grades over my college years. My lack of time management over my initial entry into college while dealing with work has always been something that I had a tough time dealing with.
I know that while my grade trend throughout community college was not particularly at its best, I did improve on my second half, making the dean's list all while taking the most complex courses offered. I achieved marks related to my major in math and science which are worthy of Rutgers and its standards. I believe that given my challenging finances and interests for computer science regardless of my lack of foundation towards the end of my high school in math and science, I have shown tremendous improvement. I would like to express my greatest interest in being admitted as a student in your university. I am thankful for being accepted to the .....campus of .... but will unfortunately be unable to attend due to location. I hope to pursue my university studies at ........ in order to be able to fulfill my dream of becoming a computer scientist.
Respecting your decision to deny me admission to ......... I still hope that you will reopen my file for reconsideration. I truly wish to pursue my studies at ........ University.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Mr. .....
