I understand that apostrophes may be used for omissions of letters in words. For example I'm or can't. But can 's simply be added to any word to indicate "is". For example tomorrow's to mean tomorrow is? Obviously we do it in our speech, but is "tomorrow's" even a word (when it is used to mean tomorrow is, not the possessive of tomorrow)?
Top answer
Yes, it can be done with many nouns in informal writing. Context will show whether possessive or 'is' ( or 'has') is meant.
