Apostrophes

So I am writing an essay & I am talking about parent's naming their children. So my question is, do I add parent's with an apostrophe? Or no? (HELP)

One parent = parent's

"A parent's naming of her child is very personal."

Two parents = parents'

"When parents' naming of their child is called into question, anger is likely."

Two parents not being possessive = parents.

"When parents name their child, they often fight about it."
