Apostrophe use in one of his friends' parties or one of his friends' parties

Hello,

If I want to convey "parties thrown by one of his friends," which would be the best way to express it?

Jill wasn't sure if he wanted her at one of his friend's parties/one of his friends' parties.

Jill wasn't sure if he wanted her at one of his friends' party.

Why not just say:

Jill wasn't sure if he wanted her to go to his friend's party.
