Apostrophe Use as a noun (not pronoun) contraction

Is it OK to use an "apostrophe s" after a noun to show the contraction of "noun is" vs. possessive? For example: "My body's failing me..." vs. "My body is failing me..."

Top answer

It certainly ok for spoken English. I think for formal written English I would use the latter but in speach I use the first one.
