Hi

i.e 'The senior wanted to persue urban affair as his life's work'

why don't we say life work??? apostrophe s is for what here???

i.e 'He is suspected of appropriating government fund'

Why not government's fund?????

Life work ~ life's: adjective or his possession. Both are possible. Government funds (note plural): government is seen as an adjective here (we often put a noun in front of another noun to make it act as an adjective).
