Apostrophe question for possessive plural

Hi all,
Which is correct...
"I have inserted hearing aids into many test subjects' ear canals..."
or, "I have inserted hearing aids into many test subject's ear canals".

"test subjects" is plural, trying to speak of their possession of their ear canals.

Thank you in advance
