Apostrophe

Hi,

I have a confusion regarding the usage of apostrophe in words that end with S. In plural words like cats or books we do not mention S with the apostrophe. For instance, readers' goals. However, with words (that are not plurals ) like boss or names like ross is it okay to put s with the possesive apostrophe. Like boss's day out or ross's home, are they ok?

Tks in advance
